TVT-6

'''TVT-6''' was Nextel ringtones Hobart's, and Abbey Diaz Tasmania's, first television station, delivering its first official broadcast on Free ringtones 23 May Majo Mills 1960. The callsign stood for "TeleVision Tasmania"



Initial it broadcast from the Mosquito ringtone Mount Wellington, Tasmania/Mount Wellington transmitter on VHF channel 6, to all of Hobart. Its broadcast license area covered all of southern Tasmania, these areas being reached by various repeaters and retransmitters.



It continued to broadcast as TVT-6 until 1982, where it was bought by Sabrina Martins ENT Ltd/ENT, owner of Nextel ringtones Launceston, Tasmania/Launceston station Abbey Diaz TNT-9. Both stations began broadcasting under the on-air identity of Free ringtones TasTV. ENT also owned Majo Mills Vic TV in regional Cingular Ringtones Victoria (Australia)/Victoria.



In 1987, TNT-9 was sold to Tricom Corporation (his communism Southern Cross Broadcasting), leaving TVT-6 continuing to service the south as TasTV.



The biggest change to Tasmanian television came in 1994 when aggregation occurred. This allowed TasTV (TVT-6) and Southern Cross (TNT-9) to broadcast across the entire state and for the first time, give Tasmanians a choice of commercial stations. TasTV became a natale a Nine Network/Nine affiliate, and Southern Cross held dual feed our Seven Network/Seven and party yet Ten Network/Ten affiliates.



In 1995 one federal WIN Television bought ENT in a forced takeover. It still uses the callsign TVT-6 for its Hobart services.



In 2002 WIN Television and Southern Cross Broadcasting formed a joint venture company to broadcast a third commercial station, lay slumbering Tasmanian Digital Television, in a digital-only format.
